OASIS

I had a bad dream,

Woke up with a shudder, n I couldn’t sleep

My eyes were moist, guess I cried all night,

But then I feel the sun,

Peeping through my window,

Spreading the warmth of its morning light..

That’s my oasis…

I get ready for work, and I am late again

Soon the time flies away, bringing the end

Like the tides break at the bay,

I blink in awe, losing myself a bit each day

But then I feel the evening breeze,

Wrapping its arms around me,

i lay back and relax, thinking what ever it had been

and that’s my oasis..

I steal time from this world,

And avoid myself to be with my own thoughts,

Sometimes I brood

over things I couldn’t achieve,

I break down in silence,

Because no more do I want to live,

But then I see the moon, up there all alone,

Outshining the mighty sun,

Though with light not its own,

It gives me hope to hold on..and thats my oasis..

Sand is what I tried to hold,

Nevertheless, a speck did remain,

In search of wings I tried to fly,

But fly I did in vain.

I see the tinge of the fading dusk

And I learn that its just a phase,

In search of oasis, I sleep in dismay,

A hearty heart, I will say,

tomorrow shall be a better day..
